Movie Opener Brainstorming & Research
Rise:
Many close-up shots and there were many shots that focused on certain items such as shoes and the ball. You also had moving shots with the character while he was playing. There was also lettering that was big and bold and the name of the film was the largest of them all so that you know it was the title. The music also indicated that he this was going to be a spots film.
Dear Lover:
You can feel the emotions of the video right when the first clip opens, and you get the still shots of the water and the trees. You then pane to the girl that is sitting there, you start to hear a voice over and get context of the situation through her voice and that explains the videos. The music also gives you an emotional aspect of the video.
Dare to Thrill:
It began upbeat and high energy with the music, and you could tell that they were having fun and enjoying themselves. The lettering gives you context to what they are doing and that they were looking for a key, that was connected to the whole concept of the film. They have many fast-moving shots that are following their actions.
Always Watching:
The music created suspense you didn’t know what was going to happen next but with the emotions and music and the cuts made to the film you would say that nothing good was going on. There were many close-up shots that created emotions and the clip often cut quickly keeping the film suspenseful.
The Blue Boar:
It is a musical, you are given a very up close and personal experience, this is obviously a very emotional film. You get the sense that this girl is going to find herself in this film and that it will be focused on her experiences and her trials.
White Coat:
There is very somber music indicating that what is happing is not good, you hear the water pouring. There are sounds that are given to you to fill the silence of the somberness. You are getting many close ups of there hands and the activities that the scientists are doing.
Stalker:
It begins with a focus on this girl, and you are getting the connection to the character. Then the title of the show indicates that it is going to be horror. Then the music and the fast motion and the panic that the girl shows when she opens the note, makes you know that this is not a good note to get. Then at the end you are given a close up of the girls face as she is clearly frightened by someone or something.
Nostalgia:
The beginning opens to a close up to the trees and is a very lighthearted film with the music and the painting that it keeps moving back and forth to. You are also given the impression that the older woman in the film is from the place that keeps being shown. You know that she is nostalgic of the life she had before.
Summary:
For my film I know that we are going to do something that is more captivating, because some of the film openings where boring. We are going to make sure that right when it begins it will captivate the audience. We also would like more action throughout the whole thing because that will be more fitting for our genre.
